Valdepuga’s 2014 vintage is a fresh, lively and powerful white comprised of four white indigenous Galician grape varieties planted in the sandy and granite soils adjacent to the Miño River. Here, the vineyards benefit from a mild Atlantic climate, with plenty of light and protection from frost to maximise ripening.
The estate was established by José Puga’s in 1998, who made wine in his family home for ten years before building a winery at Reboreda and employing (fourth generation) winemaker Felicisimo Pereira, who has been awarded the best Galician Winemaker by the Asociacion de Sumilleres Gallaecia. His classy touch is clearly evident in the 2014 vintage.
Deliciously fresh notes of pineapple, citrus and mango fruits with hints of white flowers on the nose. Fresh, yet powerful in the mouth. A great match with fish dishes and shellfish.
