Cepas del Zorro’s 2015 Rosé is a lovely fresh, vibrant and concentrated style, and the perfect match for paella.
Bodegas San Isidro, situated near the town of Bullas in south-east Spain, is small in cooperative terms, and represents many small producers who lovingly tend tiny plots, who would otherwise not be able to compete with bigger producers.
The stony vineyards are at an altitude of around 700-800 metres, largely comprising limestone and clay soils. Here, the combination of low rainfall (in almost desert-like conditions) and high altitude produces excellent quality grapes with good acidity and wonderful concentration.
Bright, pale pink with shades of violet. This is a blend of Monastrell and Grenache with fine aromas of strawberries, raspberries and redcurrants, fairly dry and fresh. Concentrated, yet balanced by acidity. Serve chilled with some lovely Iberico ham and Manchego cheese, it is just a joy.
